I'm a huge marshmallow fan. And in 2003 I tried my hand at making homemade marshmallows. After some experimentation and recipe tweaking, I was amazed at how good my marshmallows had become. My 5 kids encouraged me to try different flavors, like peanut butter, peppermint, chocolate peanut butter, and marshmallows with all kinds of candy stirred into them.
After making thousands of marshmallows, I had to find something to do with them. So I contacted my local farmer's market and started selling my confections there. I added homemade caramels and brittles, and marshmallow flavors such as amaretto, and brandy. (Those really make the best grown-up s'more!) Soon I had a regular following. It was a lot of fun to see people's reaction to seeing homemade flavored marshmallows at the farmer's market!
Things have grown quite a bit since I started at the farmer's market. We have several stores that carry our products; this website; and a contract with Northstar-at-Tahoe (a resort in Lake Tahoe, Californina). After tasting similar products from all over the country, the people at Northstar picked ours as the best. They now sell our s'more kits next to their special "marshmallow roasting" firepit!
We're still learning as we go, but each day brings something new & exciting.
